How to change a ceramic tap washer.
Before you replace the tap valve inspect the tap seat for signs of aging or damage.
Ceramic discs do wear out and the tap will eventually drip however replacements are available and good news manufacturers seem to be using relatively few sizes as standard.
Clean the o rings in soapy water and if you live in a hard water area you may need to place the rest of the disk valve including the ceramic plates in a descaler.
You will need a tube spanner or adjustable spanner for this depending on which taps you are repairing.
No leaks no drips just a fully working ceramic disc ta.
Then if your tap stem uses a screw or nut use the screwdriver or pliers to tighten the screw nut back in place.
How to change the ceramic cartridge in a quarter turn tap.
Remove the spindle from basin and then remove the tap valve.
Often these types of taps leak and there is no washer to change and so you have to replace the cer.
Place the new washer and old screw nut onto the bottom of the tap stem.

As you lift off the top section of the tap you will discover a brass locking nut.
Use an allen key of the correct size to undo the bolt holding on the top section of the tap.
U se a flat blade screwdriver to remove the hot cold button from the handle of the tap requiring a new ceramic cartridge.
Then check that the disks.
You will need to disassemble your taps by removing the handle flange and then removing the spindle.
