Allow the piece to soak for 24 hours then scrub lightly with a soft bristled. Baking soda works wonders if soaking your crock pot for a couple of hours did not seem to do the trick completely. Then replace with clean water and wait a few days until the residual chlorine dissipates. Soak the ceramic pan in hot water for 30 minutes to remove burnt food.

For a very dirty crock repeat the cleaning process. Easy to clean just soap and water and allow it to dry thoroughly. This should kill the mold spores that might still be in the crock. If you ve got really tough stains let the mixture cook a little longer.

With the water vinegar and baking soda mixture soaking in the base turn your slow cooker on low heat for about an hour. Mix 3 parts water to one part bleach. I would suggest filling the crock with warm water and adding a cup of chlorine bleach and let it stand for about an hour.

Soap and water won t cut it if mold spores are living in those stones.
