Get your brush dip it in a mix of cold water and mild detergent and brush it. Do not dry clean a flokati rug. Spot clean the spill as soon as possible with a clean white cloth dampened with cold water. Remember since these rugs are wool you ll want to avoid heat when cleaning.

Since heat shrinks and damages wool avoid cleaning flokati rugs with hot water. Don t use a vacuum on the rug or the strands will get caught. Hang the rug over a line or a fence and rinse it thoroughly with a hose until the water runs clean. Avoid rubbing or pushing the stain further into the fibers.

This will lift the pile and make it look great. Use a cold water wash with a good quality soap or detergent recommended for woollens followed by rinses and a short spin cycle. Turn off the beater brush if possible. Do not use woolite wool washes or laundry detergents such as tide or you will damage the sheepskin leather.
