How to hook up multiple screens to a laptop.
Power up the monitor and the laptop.
You will now see the second and third display.
Then plug the cable from the second monitor into the free port on your computer.
Right click anywhere on the desktop and select screen resolution then choose extend these displays from the multiple displays drop down menu and click ok or apply.
Select the start menu and type display.
The advantages of a second screen are huge.

If you re using windows 10 it should automatically detect the hdmi signal and enable you to begin working right away.
If you have multiple displays you can change how they re arranged.
Adjust the monitors so your mouse cursor flows smoothly between your laptop display and the additional monitors.
You can just hook up each monitor to one thunderbolt usb c port.
So if you have a laptop with thunderbolt 3 and a thunderbolt capable monitor this is by far the best solution.
However it s rarely that simple.
Press the windows key and p to select the project notification bar.
Select extend to share the desktop with the second screen.
Unless you have a very new laptop and very new monitors you ll probably need a bit more to make this work.

Since we need to connect only a single external monitor we can use an hdmi cable to connect your laptop to this display.
By default windows duplicates the displays.
To set up dual monitors first identify your computer s video connection type such as hdmi or dvi by checking the back of the monitor or cpu case.
In display settings select and drag the display to where you want.
Do this with all the displays you want to move.
