How to install ice maker water line plastic.
Turn the water on at the water valve you just installed.
This is the first fridge i ve had which has an ice maker in it so i need to run a water line to the fridge.
Disconnect the faucet supply tube from the valve using two pairs of pliers or two adjustable wrenches.

Tying into a copper line looks dead simple with one of those vampire tap things but i ve not seen anything out there about tying into a pvc line.

Having a refrigerator with a water and ice dispenser is very convenient.
It may sound intimidating but with readily available fittings it s really pretty simple to install an ice maker line when you have copper cpvc or pex water supply lines.
Another option is to cut in a tee connection and install a riser with a stop at the end valve that you typically use for.
Check for leaks at each end of the plastic line.

The better solution when it s time to install an ice maker line is to cut the water line install a t fitting and a ball shutoff valve and add your supply line.
Drilling a hole in plastic pipe this will prevent the pipe from splitting.
Disconnect the faucet water line place a rag or small bucket under the supply valve to catch water draining from the supply tube.
Insert one of the small brass tube stiffeners into the end of the line pressing it in until the flare on the stiffener touches the end of the plastic tubing.
This action pierces the water pipe allowing water to flow.
Tighten etc as needed.
There is a chance that you have to do this yourself so we have also included a guide on how to install a new refrigerator water supply line as well.
Slide on the pressure nut and then the ferrule from the water line kit onto the plastic water line then carefully attach the nut water line to the refrigerator water inlet valve.
Turn the small valve backwards.
Turn on the cold water at the kitchen faucet to relief pressure in the water line.
I could find a copper line to tie into but most of what s near the fridge is pvc.
